What are switch mode power supplies?
A switch mode power supply is an electronic device that uses an internal oscillator operating at a frequency of several tens of kHz, together with the phenomenon of charging and discharging an inductive component by magnetic flux and variation of the pulse duration. It converts a sinusoidal voltage with a frequency of 50Hz or a direct voltage into a direct voltage of a different value. Thanks to the high operating frequency, it allows conversion with very high efficiency (approx. 90%) while maintaining relatively small dimensions.
The KSR switch mode power supplies available in the BREVE range are enclosed, stabilised modular power supplies with a direct current output, designed for mounting on a T-35 rail. They can also be used with particularly long cable runs to LED lighting fittings. The enclosures of the KSR power supplies are fitted with suitable brackets that make installation easier and considerably faster.
